ROI Case

Before Nautis After Nautis
6+ tools for fundraising (Pitchbook, DocSend, Google Sheets, Notion, CRM) 1 platform
11.5 hrs/week on cross-tool admin ~3 hrs/week
Manual investor follow-up tracking AI-flagged warm leads daily
Separate data room + CRM Unified with viewer analytics
~$480/month in subscription costs $99 for 3 months (launch)

Honest Limitations

[MEDIUM RISK] PDF ingestion can truncate large decks. The document chunker struggles with PDFs over 20 MB or 20+ slides. Mitigation: Export slides as PNG images before uploading, or split decks into two uploads. Nautis has confirmed a fix in progress.

[MEDIUM RISK] No native API or webhook support. You cannot programmatically push/pull data. No Zapier/Make connector either. Mitigation: Use manual CSV export for now. The roadmap shows an API for Q4 2026.

[MINOR RISK] AI Copilot occasionally hallucinates investor names. During testing, the Copilot suggested a VC contact that did not exist at the target firm. Mitigation: Human-in-the-loop approval is ON by default — all drafted emails require founder review before send.

[MINOR RISK] Mobile app is read-only for most modules. You can view briefings and CRM on iOS, but editing is desktop-only. Mitigation: Plan daily ops review on desktop.

FAQ

Is Nautis better than Notion for startup operations?

Yes — for fundraising-centric ops, Nautis is the better choice. Notion is a more flexible general-purpose wiki, but it lacks embedded fundraising CRM and data rooms. Nautis gives you those features plus the Chief of Staff Briefing out of the box.

Does Nautis replace a dedicated CRM like Attio or HubSpot?

No — not for outbound sales at scale. Nautis's CRM is built for fundraising deal stages, not high-volume sales sequences. You still need a purpose-built CRM for email automation and lead scoring.

Can I export my data out of Nautis?

Yes — CSV for structured data and PDF for documents. There is no native API yet, which limits programmatic access. The API is planned for Q4 2026 according to the roadmap.

Is the Nautis launch deal worth it?

Yes — 3 months of Premium for $99 is a 33% discount over full price. The platform replaces 6+ tools, making the cost easy to justify. Active fundraisers will recoup the investment quickly.

Does Nautis use multiple AI models?

Yes — OpenAI GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and Gemini 2.5 Pro. Document parsing uses Gemini's vision layer while email drafting runs on GPT-4o. Strategic analysis routes to Claude for complex reasoning tasks.
